FREE CROCHET TOOLS

Even increase and decrease calculator

Place single-crochet increases or pairwise decreases while accounting for every starting stitch.

Completely free. Noncommercial. No account, ads or uploads.

Enter your measurements and calculate to see the result.

How the calculation works

Each increase consumes one stitch and creates two. Each decrease consumes two and creates one. The remaining plain stitches are distributed around the changes; both totals are checked.

Worked example

Going from 30 to 36 requires six increases and 24 plain stitches. Going from 30 to 24 requires six decreases and 18 plain stitches.

What this tool covers

This plans one pass of single-stitch changes. It cannot more than double a count or remove more than half with pairwise decreases. Your pattern determines edges, placement, and the appearance of the fabric.

Inputs stay in this tab. “Use in a creation” prepares a result for your review in the studio. It does not change an existing creation until you choose Apply.
